What is 'document you gave for reference at reservation time' on flight ticket?

I have a note on flight ticket saying at check-in I must have identity document AND document I gave for reference at reservation time. I'm not aware of anything like that during reservation. What can they ask me for? I heard they may ask for credit card that I paid with, is it a problem if I don't have it (flight ticket was a present)? Thank you

Answer 1 :
If the ticket was bought online it will ask you to complete this form so as it was a gift you need to get the person who gave it to you to fill it in , if it came from a travel agent they will have to get them to complete one for you .
If this is to travel from the UK Im afraid you wont be able to fly without it .
EDIT
When you complete the booking on line they then send you this form to complete and they will remind you if you dont do it as you cant travel without it when going to certain countries .
EDIT
This is my last reminder
Ryanair are required to collect (before flight departure) specific travel document information from all passengers travelling to Spain (including the Canaries and Balearic Islands) from the UK, Republic of Ireland, Morocco & Switzerland. FAILURE TO PROVIDE THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT WILL RESULT IN YOU BEING DENIED BOARDING WITHOUT REFUND.
Sorry about the captials thats how its printed.

Answer 2 :
On most airlines you need the airline booking reference and your Identity document. If you are flying into Spain or the US you will have been asked to put in your "advance passenger information" ie: passport number, when issued, expiry date, date of birth and nationality. You do not say which airline you ar travelling on so can not give you a better answer but on 99% of airlines as long as the name on the ticket (of which you should have printed of a copy) is the same as on your identity document( Passport or ID Card) you are ok

Answer 3 :
Well you just have to prepare your id and the reservation number because the airline company needed that and you can go to their office to pay cash if you dont have credit card. I hope I able to help you a bit
